The Day The Angels Sang

I am sure I heard the angels singing the night that my grandson was born. God has blessed our family with the most precious bundle of joy. Jak was born on September 23, 2008 at 9:25 pm. He weighed in at 10 pounds 3 ounces. He was 21 & 3/4 inches long. I can't believe he is already six weeks old. Here is a photo of him the morning after he was born.

Grandma didn't get to hold him the night he was born. Mom and baby were bonding. I was back at the hospital to hold him early (very early) the next morning to get my baby hugs and kisses. What a feeling of joy.

Here is a picture of Jak last week. He is snoozing at grandma's house waiting for his mom to come in from work and feed him his lunch before she is off to class for the afternoon. He looks just like his dad did at that age. It is like time has been turned back.

I now know that feeling of love that a grandmother feels. Everyone kept telling me it was like no other feeling. I agree wholeheartedly.

I started this post early this morning and it is now almost midnight. It is amazing how much time is spent caring for a baby and three little hounds. After Jak leaves the dogs are all over me begging for attention. I do not have time to squander for sure. I am trying to budget my time but I am not that way by nature...lol! I need to budget in some time for stitching and quilting. DH has been ignored terribly. He will survive I am sure. He is so enamored by Jak that he hasn't complained. Being a grandpa has certainly had a positive affect on him. LOL!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the photos. Have a good Thursday!

Happy quilting! Karen

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! I was so excited to hear you had posted pics of Jak! He is beautiful! I knew it would take 2 seconds for you to get that "Grandma love" that is like no other! How wonderful that he is in your life everyday. I get nothing done when Emerson is here. I mean NOTHING, so I understand the time thing. Still...thank you for sharing your gorgeous grandbaby with us all. Now don't wait so long...they change so quickly!
Did Janet put a bee in your bonnet???

Oh Karen, you holding Jak brought tears to my eyes. I know you are doing what you were meant to do, what a joyful time for you. Take a lot of photos because they grow up a lot faster than our kids did. I bet Ron is in seventh heaven. Bless you.

Do you catching yourself standing and watching him breath while he sleeps? I know I did when my grandkids were born. Oh if they only knew what we know now wouldn't they be so far ahead of the World. Enjoy. Chris
